Christian Bautista declared his continuing support for GMA Network, sealing their ties anew at the contract renewal event held on Tuesday, May 6.
Aside from Bautista, present at the event were GMA Network President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, and Officer-in-Charge for Entertainment Group and Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy.
Kat Bautista, Christian’s wife and chief operating officer of their talent and influencer management agency NYMA (Now You Must Aspire), and the singer’s parents were also in attendance.
“Maraming salamat sa pagtitiwala. It’s really overwhelming to be standing here today,” Christian said. “I’ve been part of GMA for over a decade, almost half of my entire career. But it never gets old and it never gets less meaningful.”
Addressing the NYMA staff as well, he continued, “Thank you for being here, for guiding me, and for pushing me to explore new spaces. Thank you for showing the world the other side of me — the funnier, lighter, and more human side.”
Bautista then received praises from Duavit who said he admires the former not only for his talent but most especially for his personality.
“When you look at the terms ‘versatile,’ ‘committed,’ and ‘artist,’ he personifies those,” Duavit stated.
Yalong, meanwhile, described Christian as the “Philippine counterpart of Simon Cowell” for being the “most dared judge” in the reality talent competition “The Clash.”
The network executives further looked forward to working with the singer in the next several years.
Kat, for her part, expressed her gratitude to the Kapuso network for renewing the singer’s contract, saying they had been praying for it.
“This is Christian’s home and I watched how he blossomed here. I’m also thankful that you welcomed NYMA and we look forward to what we can build with you,” she added.
Christian, who also celebrated his 20th year in the Philippine entertainment industry, is known for being in the main cast of the noontime variety show “All-Out Sundays.” He will also return as judge in “The Clash” this coming June.
Christian has also been having international engagements. Among his recent ones was his performance with the international band All-4-One in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2024.
