The Philippines is setting its sights on the long-awaited second Miss World crown, and all eyes are on Krishnah Gravidez, who is the one vying for the title at the 72nd edition of the pageant. As she prepares for the final stretch, which is the coronation set to happen tonight, Saturday, May 31, in India, here are some fun facts about her that highlight her character behind the crown.

The name Krishnah refers to a Hindu god

Indian reporters have highlighted in their interviews with Gravidez that her first name refers to the Hindu god of love, compassion, and protection, which is quite symbolic considering that the Miss World 2025 coronation night is happening in Telangana, India, this year.

According to Gravidez, it was her father who named her such, but it has nothing to do with India and the Hindu god. She said her name is a combination of Kristo (Jesus Christ) and Noah (Noah’s Ark). Yet, she expressed how honored she feels that her name holds significance for the Indian community.

“Later on, I found out it’s the Hindu God of love, compassion, and protection. I feel really honored to be named as someone like him. And I heard that he’s a cow hoarder, and that is something that resonates with me because I’m also an animal advocate,” she shared.

She is a recording artist

Gravidez consistently emphasized in her interviews that she is very passionate about music. On May 30, she released her rendition of South Border’s “Rainbow,” which is also her first single on music platforms.

“When I couldn’t find the words, I turned to music. It became my secret language, the one I speak when I can’t. Because music doesn’t need permission to feel; it just connects,” she expressed in her Contestant Introduction for Miss World.

The Philippine bet said that she looks forward to producing her songs and releasing a full album this year, but, for now, her main focus is bringing the country its second Miss World crown.

“I was flipping burgers, full heart, full smile because every chapter no matter how small was shaping me,” she said at the time.

The Baguio native explained that she started working at an early age not because she had to but because “she wanted to build something bigger than herself.”

Aside from work, Gravidez was also eager about her studies. She initially pursued industrial engineering at Saint Louis University in Baguio but later transferred to the University of Northern Philippines in Vigan to obtain a degree in civil engineering.

The beauty queen said she was studying to be an engineer so she could restore their family’s ancestral home.

She is a ‘fur mom’

Aside from her advocacy for safe spaces and children, Gravidez is a proud animal advocate and “fur” mom. She shared that she currently owns eight dogs, and her family also has dogs.

“Through it all, my dogs were right there. They reminded me that joy doesn’t need an audience. Sometimes it’s just a wagging tail or a quiet cuddle after a long day,” she expressed.

First Miss World Philippines rep from Baguio

While Baguio has produced other national titleholders—such as Kylie Verzosa, who was crowned Miss International 2016—Gravidez’s victory marks the first time a native of Baguio has won and is set to compete on the Miss World stage.

Gravidez has also proudly represented her hometown in various pageants, including Miss Universe Philippines 2023, where she finished in the top five. /edv
