Heartfelt tributes to Pilita Corrales, dubbed Asia’s Queen of Songs, poured in on social media after her death on Saturday, April 12.

Jericho Rosales, who is currently dating Janine Gutierrez, Corrales’ granddaughter, took to his Instagram Story to honor the late singer.

“Her songs [are] engraved in my mother’s heart. Beyond grateful for this artist,” he wrote alongside Corrales’ photo.

In August last year, Rosales attended the 85th birthday party of Corrales, where he serenaded the latter with his rendition of Eric Clapton’s “Change the World.”

Martin Nievera, on the other hand, remembered Corrales’ impact on his career as he asked the fans to do the “Pilita bend” to honor her for her contribution to the industry.

“Thank you for giving me my first pair of wings. Because of you I could fly into my dreams. Now I ask the entire showbiz industry to bend the “Pilita bend” with me in honor of a legend; an icon. We love you and honor you this day as we remember you and let your spirit live through all our good works from this day forward. A million thanks to you, Tita Mamita, Pilita Corrales! I will never forget this, our last duet,” he wrote alongside a video of their duet taken during the late singer’s birthday last year.

Meanwhile, Janno Gibbs expressed how humbled he was for the opportunity to also have a duet with the legendary singer

“RIP Ms. Pilita Corrales. Honored to have recorded this duet version of her song. She was thrilled to make her 1st ever music video in her career. Love you Tapilits. Your voice stayed golden till the end,” he wrote alongside the music video of their “Kapantay ang Langit” duet.

Ogie Alcasid, in his tribute, described Corrales as a “national treasure.”

“We lost a national treasure. We send our prayers and our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of Mamita. [Thank you] so much for your kindness, your generosity and your heavenly voice,” he wrote.

Zsa Zsa Padilla penned a lengthy tribute as she described the “Dahil Sa’yo” singer as someone who is “one of a kind and so full of life.”

“Dearest Tita Pilita, It’s hard to imagine a world without you. I can still vividly hear your voice, see your beautiful face, and feel your warmth, charm, and unmatched humor. You were truly one of a kind. I’ll never forget the first time we worked together—what an honor it was to finally get to know you beyond the icon I had long admired,” she wrote alongside a series of their photos taken through the years.

“You were always so candid, so funny, so full of life. I will miss your stories deeply. I will forever treasure the advice you’ve shared with me. And with great sadness, I say goodbye… to my idol, my inspiration. Thank you for your greatness. Thank you for your songs, which will forever live in my heart. Maraming salamat. I love you, Tita. My deepest condolences to your family. With love and endless admiration, ZZP,” Padilla concluded the post.
