Despite falling short in the race for Pasig councilor, beauty queen Shamcey Supsup-Lee said her campaign achieved something more than a seat in the government as her team “stood firm in their principles.”
“We have already won because we never lost who we are,” she wrote in an Instagram post hours after Pasig proclaimed its new officials. “In every step of this journey, we chose integrity over shortcuts, truth over convenience, and compassion over division.”
The Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up titleholder then thanked her supporters for “walking” with her in her campaign.
“We stood firm in our principles, spoke up for what we believed in, and remained grounded in purpose. This was never just about a position; it was about proving that dignity, honesty, and heart still have a place in public service. Thank you for walking with me,” she wrote.

Fellow beauty queen MJ Lastimosa congratulated Supsup-Lee on her campaign, saying she is looking forward to the day when the latter would finally get the chance to lead her community.
“You’ve always been a great example, a leader, and an inspiration to many. I can’t wait for the day when they finally give you the chance to lead, and for them to see what you’re truly capable of. Congratulations for trying and wanting to offer your whole self to your community,” said Lastimosa.

In the councilor race, Supsup-Lee ranked 7th place with 32,399 votes. She initially ran under the slate of Sarah Discaya but later left the ticket following the sexist remarks uttered by their party’s congressional candidate, Christian “Ian” Sia, who was eventually disqualified by the Commission on Elections.
