Benedix Ramos cast in upcoming film ‘Bar Boys’ sequel

Benedix Ramos has been confirmed as part of the cast of the upcoming film “Bar Boys: After School,” a sequel to the 2017 cult favorite “Bar Boys,” starring Carlo Aquino, Rocco Nacino, Enzo Pineda, and Kian Cipriano.
Ramos’ casting was announced on the film’s social media platforms on Wednesday, May 21, where he will portray the character of Bok. Details about Bok’s character, as well as his backstory and relationship to the original cast, have yet to be revealed.
“Benedix Ramos as Bok. Film and theater actor Benedix Ramos has joined the ‘Bar Boys: After School’ cast,” the post read.
A glimpse of the actor’s past work was also revealed on the film’s social media platforms, particularly, his work in theater.
“He is critically acclaimed for his roles as Gabe in ‘Next to Normal’ and originating the role of Erik Vicencio in ‘Bar Boys: A New Musical.’ He was also a housemate in Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10,” the post read.
One of his notable roles was as Eric Vicencio in the musical adaptation of “Bar Boys,” which was portrayed by Carlo Aquino in the original film.
Ramos also confirmed his casting on Facebook, resharing the film’s earlier post. “‘Bar Boys: After School.’ Shooting SOON,” the post read.

Ramos started his entertainment career as an influencer before joining “Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10” in 2021. Aside from his aforementioned work, he also appeared in an episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” “Love in 4 Days,” “My Fantastic Pag-ibig,” and “Better Days.”
The rising star is the first cast member of the upcoming film, set to be filmed at a later date. It remains unknown if the original cast will return to the sequel or it will be an entirely new story focusing on different characters.
“Bar Boys” tells the story of four best friends, Erik (Aquino), Christian (Pineda), Joshua (Cipriano), and Toran Garcia (Nacino), who try to enter law school. While Erik, Christian, and Toran pass the bar, Joshua fails the exam due to his attention to his budding career as an actor. The film is written and directed by Kip Oebanda.
