Former SexBomb Girls member Sugar Mercado is adding pageantry to her resume as she is set to represent the Philippines at the Mrs. Universe 2025 pageant in Manila this October.
Mercado celebrated her crowning moment via a recent Instagram post, dedicating her win to her children.
“Thank you very much for the opportunity and the trust that I can be a Queen even though I am already a mother,” she wrote. “To my children, this is all for you.”
The former TV host then extended her gratitude to her team, including talent manager Wilbert Tolentino, fellow celebrity Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol, influencer Madam Inutz, and beauty queen Mary Letim.
“To those who believe in me and those who don’t believe that I can, you are all part of my victory; these became my strength to fulfill my dream,” she said. “Through all this, I honor God; to Him all praise.”

Aside from the main title, Mercado also bagged special awards including the Strongest Photo Award and Darling of the Press.
The 38-year-old was one of the original members of the Filipino girl group SexBomb Girls, which rose to fame in the late ’90s and early 2000s.
Mercado will vie for the crown against over 100 delegates at the pageant’s 48th edition, celebrating the achievements and advocacies of married women.
The current Mrs. Universe titleholder is Natalia Daroshka of Belarus Europe, who was crowned in South Korea.
Meanwhile, Mercado recently hugged the spotlight after revealing that she was in a seven-year relationship with TV host Willie Revillame, years after they denied they were romantically involved. /ra
