The 16th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant culminated with the coronation of Eduarda Braum of Brazil, who bested 65 other delegates at the final competition held in Poland on June 27 (28 in Manila).
She inherited the title from Indonesian beauty Harashta Haifa Zahra, last year’s winner and the first titleholder from her country, in ceremonies held in Nowy Sacz, Malopolska.
Four more ladies joined her in the final round of the competition, each earning runner-up honors.
Filipino-German Anna Lakrini who represented Germany settled for the first runner-up spot, while Quishantely Leito of Curaçao finished as second runner-up.
Tarah Valencia of the Philippines was proclaimed third runner-up, while Valerie Klepadlo of Puerto Rico rounded up the winners’ circle as fourth runner-up.
Valencia waited for more than a year before she could compete in the international pageant. She received her title as The Miss Philippines-Supranational after finishing fourth in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant held in May last year.
She inherited the national title from Alethea Ambrosio, who was then just about to compete in the 2024 Miss Supranational pagent, where she eventually earned the Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania title.
This is not Lakrini’s first international competition. She first took part in the 2023 edition of The Miss Globe pageant as the representative of the Philippines. She finished third overall in the contest held in Albania.
She was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Globe on her second try in the national pageant in 2023. In 2025, she returned to her father’s country and took part in the Queens of Germany search, eventually clinching the Miss Supranational Germany title.
The Miss Supranational pageant is an international competition based in Poland, whose main thrust is to seek “aspirational” and “inspirational” women from all over the world.
It has a counterpart male competition, Mister Supranational, currently running its eighth edition, also in Malopolska, Poland. The 2025 contest will culminate on June 28 (29 in Manila). Kenneth Cabungcal will try to post the Philippines’ first victory in the contest.
In the Miss Supranational pageant, 2013 titleholder Mutya Johanna Datul was the first winner to come from the Philippines. The country also has the longest active placement streak in the competition, that started in 2012 when Elaine Kay Moll was proclaimed third runner-up.
The country has already proclaimed its representative to the Miss Supranational pageant next year, 2025 Miss Universe Philippines finalist Katrina Llegado, who was quinta finalista (fifth runner-up) in the 2019 Reina Hispanoamericana pagant in Bolivia.
